07.08.21 - Open Day - Classic Jaguar
Held at P&K Thornton’s Nottinghamshire facilities, the Open Day has been a tremendous success with tens of classic Jaguar enthusiasts walking through the doors and enjoying a fantastic morning alongside fabulous cars. An eclectic mix of classic cars were displayed in the workshops ranging from Jaguar E-Type, Jaguar Mk II, Jaguar XK120 & XK150 and topping up the display with a wonderful Allard J2X and the Aston Martin DB 2/4 Mark III. The metalwork facility was presented beautifully with the experienced panel beaters explaining the techniques and processes they go through to achieve perfection in steel and aluminium. The engines building and testing area was busy with the display of a newly built Jaguar E-Type 3.8 engine put through the paces for the very first time. A plethora of technical questions was put forward to the P&K Thornton in house engine builder, testing our over 5 decades of experience to the limit of our keen audience.
A fine selection of breakfast options were provided by the house, accompanied by well deserved hot drinks and fine music. Our efforts were rewarded by the enthusiasm of our audience and to our delight we managed to raise £432.83 for Cancer Research UK, a cause close to our hearts.
Onwards and upwards, we have come a long way in the past few years, we will strive to make next year’s edition of our Open Day even better than the previous one.
