Having just been resprayed, we were assigned to recommission the E-Type from where the bodyshop put it all back together without much finesse. Upon an initial inspection, we discovered fuel leaking in 7 different places and this is where we started to understand the gravity of the situation. We proceed by stripping the systems individually and rebuilding them as they should have been. Front brakes have been uprated to a larger and lighter system, offering enough stopping power to halt the 1.5 tons of the V12 E-Type. The electrical installation had to be seriously rectified to make it reliable. A Jaguar Classic audio and satnav was fitted in exchange of the old stereo, offering a touch of modern while integrating perfectly into the dashboard design. The engine required extensive attention once the head gasket failure was discovered, cylinder heads were removed and re-finished by the professionals. It all came together beautifully making the V12 E-Type drive like a true Grand Turismo.
